It’s 4-H Fresh!

The 4-H Fresh! Farm to Table Auction is a showcase of local 4-H projects.  Through their traditional and independent projects, 4-H members develop practical skills in record keeping, business, livestock management, and nutrition while also   experiencing the importance of teamwork, responsibility, and dedication.

 
By supporting 4-H our Hunterdon County 4-H members and their projects, you are equipping youth with the skills necessary to become tomorrow’s leaders.

The Hunterdon County 4-H Fresh! Farm to Table Auction is open to anyone who would like to participate as a bidder.  We urge interested bidders to register online.  Limited seating may be available the evening of the auction on a first come basis.  Each bidder will have a unique number with which they can bid.
Pre registered bidders will receive a free parking pass to the Hunterdon County Fair on the day of the auction in their bidder packets, and complementary snacks before the auction.


Auction items, including livestock may be inspected anytime Thursday afternoon. All pertinent information on the animals such as weight, grade, current market price and order of sale is will be included in the auction catalog. Other items will be displayed. Bidding on livestock is made on a price per pound basis with the current market price being the starting or “floor” price. The auctioneer will determine the open bid for other items.

If you would like to bid on livestock


• You may keep the animal for home or for can have it processed at a facility of your choice.
• You may resell the animal and recover the floor price of the animal. This option allows you to enjoy participating in the

auction, without having to deal with an “unwanted” animal. The auction committee will handle the resale of the animal.
• Co-buyers and buyer pools may also purchase animals at the auction.


 

If you are unable to attend the livestock auction


• You may designate a proxy bidder to purchase animals on your behalf.
• You may donate money towards the purchase of a specific animal.
• You may donate money to raise the lowest prices in a specific species.

• You may donate money to the auction committee to ensure that all 4-H and FFA members participating in the auction

receive a fair price for their animals.

The 4-H Fresh! Farm to Table Auction Committee is extremely grateful for the interest of the numerous businesses and individuals.

As a thank you, successful bidders are recognized in several ways:


1. Business / Individual name displayed on the buyer’s recognition board at the Hunterdon County Fairgrounds.
2. Business / Individual name recognized in 4-HFresh.org website.
3. Business / Individual name announced to the crowd after each purchase.
4. A picture of the 4-H member with their project to display at your business.
5. Business name listed in future auction publications.
6. Purchases are tax deductible
7. Free entry and parking at the fair the day of the auction (just tell the back gate attendant that you are with the auction)
